  The roasted vegetable platter is a spectacular vegan option, full of flavor and very good sized. The staff was very nice and professional. Will certainly go again.

  We've had some outstanding meals at J. Gilbert's in the past, however this visit was not particularly up to the same standards. We made our reservations for earlier on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was packed. We were seated at our table and the first thing my wife and I noticed was the noise level was extremely loud. Our server was fantastic. Although he was very busy, he spent enough time to share details about the specials and go over some of his favorites on both the wine list and the menu. The food that we received was good, not great. We like J. Gilbert's for the wood fired flavor of the meat, however my wife's steak had more of a gamy flavor than we are normally accustomed to. I chose the lobster cobb salad and was somewhat disappointed in the presentation. This was our first "so-so" experience here and we will not judge the restaurant based on one experience. We were simply disappointed that it wasn't up to the usual standards that we have experienced in the past.
